Apply a cold compress to the affected area for 10-20 minutes every hour for the first 24-48 hours. Next, put a warm compress in place. Make an effort to stay away from any solid food and use hot beverages, instead, on the first days go for softer foods and cold drinks. If the pain doesn’t go away or gets worse, do not hesitate and visit your dentist or oral surgeon immediately.
