Questions & Answers on "Cancer" (342)
My masi had whipple surgery in Feb 2021. Since November she has been feeling pain, bloating stomach and cramps but initially she ignored it as it is very common in people. But recently it became severe and so I consulted our doctor. Few reports are yet to come but doctor is thinking there might be peritoneal carcinomas to her stomach lining. That can lead to the early stage of Peritoneal cancer. Can you please show some light on this? We are extremely confused
Yes post Whipple surgery pain and discomfort for limited time period is a common complain. A thorough examination and investigations are mandatory if we are suspecting any progression of disease. There are specific Cancer markers which can help us diagnose the condition. Peritoneal Carcinoma has to be ruled out as soon as possible. Exact comment on treatment planning can only be done once all the investigations are done. So be in touch with your surgical oncologist and for any help.

Good morning. On examination of the CT scan and the MRI they detected a thymoma, with a benign appearance. Do you think I should remove it or do a biopsy first? THANKS
Female | 65
First, a biopsy should be performed in order to confirm the diagnosis of thymoma. When the diagnosis is made, it should be surgically removed. See a thoracic surgeon to have correct diagnosis and management.

Can we give blood after 1 week of gfc treatment
Male | 21
You need to wait before giving blood after GFC treatment. Your body requires time to recover; it lost cells during the procedure. Don't give blood too soon - at least one week is best. That lets your body rebuild the blood cells affected by treatment. Donating blood earlier could make you tired or dizzy. Wait a week to be safe after GFC.

Osteoradionecrosis is a serious condition that occurs after radiation therapy, and while Ayurveda offers supportive care to improve overall health, it may not fully cure this condition without surgery. Factors that may increase the risk of pancreatic cancer are: smoking, diabetes, chronic, inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis), family history of pancreatic cancer, obesity, family history of genetic syndromes that can increase cancer risk and others. Pancreatic cancer is called a silent killer because it often grows or spreads undetected. Many tumors of Stage 1 pancreatic cancer are resect able, or capable of being removed through the surgery. If surgery is not possible, other standard treatment choices include chemotherapy, radiation or both. Consult Cancer Treatment doctors in Mumbai, or any other city you prefer.
