You might have pharyngitis, which is inflammation and swelling in the back of your throat. The yellow and white bumps could be pus pockets, often caused by viral or bacterial infections. Smoking can irritate your throat and make things worse, so it's a good idea to stop for a while. To soothe your throat, drink plenty of fluids, gargle with warm salt water, and avoid smoking.
