Can I take hard dose medicines on empty stomach?

Patient's Query

Eat hard dose medicines without eating food

Answered by Dr. Samrat Jankar

Strong medicines taken without eating can cause stomach upset. You may experience the following symptoms: feel nauseous, have stomach pain, or even throw up. The reason is that the medicines can be harmful to an empty stomach. One way to solve this problem is to always eat something before taking your medicine. A small snack is enough to get you through this.

My fiancee has been diagnosed with gluten intolerance and on the scale is a 3.8, being 0.2 away from being classed as having celiac disease. If he carried on eating gluten like normal, would he eventually develop celiacs disease? And if not should he cut gluten out anyway?

Male | 39

Bloating, diarrhea, and fatigue are some common symptoms of gluten sensitivity. In some cases, if a person keeps consuming foods containing this protein, they may develop celiac disease – an illness that makes the body react even more harshly towards gluten. To avoid further harm and discomfort, it would be best if he stopped eating anything with wheat or any other sources of gluten immediately.

what csn i take for a bubbly, gassy, gurgling stomach

Female | 17

Your rumbling tummy means gas is trapped inside. You may have eaten too quickly or gulped air while drinking. Certain foods like beans and veggies can cause this too. Go slowly when eating, skip fizzy drinks, and sip peppermint tea. A brief walk might help the gas pass through.

I was diagnosed with typhoid after which the doctor gave me medicine for 10 days. After 10 days they gave me medicine again which also included Tramin plus. I would like to know why given Dromadin Plus because it is a strong pain reliever. Now there is no pain in my body.

Male | 37

Typhoid is due to a bacillus and can result in fever, body aches, and stomach problems. The medicine that your doctor prescribed acted to eliminate the bacteria that were responsible for the infection. The Tramin Plus contained in your medication is responsible for the relief of any pain or discomfort you may have been experiencing. To ensure that the infection has been completely treated, it is crucial to take your medication exactly as directed.

I am a 51 year old woman, I was diagnosed with h.pylori bateria,. Abdominal scan diagnosed severe increase in abdominal gas in the middle of the abdomen and worsen the upper left quadrant. I'm having severe chest pain, pain under the left side of the breast that radiates to the shoulder blade, back and waist pain, upper belly pain with burning sensation and finding it discomfort to sit upright, severe pelvic pain that feels tender from the pubic region to the upper belly. I don't have a good bowel movement, and I don't empty my bowel properly after each bowel movement.

Female | 51

The bacteria might be causing inflammation leading to chest pain, back pain, or discomfort in the upper left part of your tummy. Additionally, pelvic and bellyache could also result from the accumulation of gas which causes bloating as well. To reduce these signs follow the doctor’s prescription on how to deal with H.pylori. In addition, take small meals more frequently; avoid foods that make you gassy, and keep drinking water.

Male | 28

If you are encountering nausea or indigestion, you should make an appointment with the gastroenterologist for proper diagnosis and therapy. Self-medication should not be an option as it can cover the actual reason for your discomfiture.

Dealing with not feeling all empty after going to the bathroom and tummy troubles, I get it. Irritable bowel syndrome, or IBS for short, commonly brings these issues. It's a lasting condition needing ongoing care. Cutting out things that trigger it like dairy, spicy eats, and caffeinated drinks might provide relief. Staying active regularly also helps manage symptoms. Don't forget to drink plenty of fluids and de-stress, as these can worsen IBS.

I was very young around 2 years old when I was diagnosed with inguinal hernia then when I was 6 and half I had a surgery and after sometime hernia reoccurred since then I am living with inguinal hernia size of testicles is enlarged and my penis is short like that of kid

Male | 18

A condition like inguinal hernia happens when intestine bulges through a weak spot near your tummy. It causes pain, swelling, or a lump by your groin. Surgery fixes it sometimes. But if hernia returns after surgery, discuss treatment options with your doctor. Enlarged testicle and shorter penis might relate to hernia. So, mention these concerns to your healthcare provider for further solutions.
