No it does not rule out normal or ectopic pregnancy, serum beta hcg levels and ultrasound to be done. In vitro fertilization (IVF) may still be necessary even if serum beta hCG levels and ultrasound do not rule out normal or ectopic pregnancy.

Bleeding resembling a period after using Primolut means that you have no pregnancy; also this medication usually causes bleeding similar to the one which occurs during periods. However, it does not entirely eliminate the possibility of an ectopic pregnancy that must be diagnosed in another way. To get correct measurment, it is preferable to visit a gynecologist. They may do a pregnancy test and if appropriate an ultrasound to evaluate both normal and ectopic pregnancy. It is necessary to make appropriate diagnosis and care as soon as possible.
