Handling Expired SQUINIC-M for Baby Safely

Patient's Query

I accidentally gave the baby expired SQUINIC- M which expired yesterday. The expiration is January 2024. I just want to know what can I do so it doesn’t harm my baby .

Answered by Dr. Babita Goel

If your little one accidentally ingested expired SQUINIC-M, carefully observe for any abnormal signs like vomiting, loose stools, or skin irritation. Expiration dates exist to ensure safety; the medicine might not function optimally. To exercise caution, reach out to your pediatrician for guidance on the appropriate next steps.

Your grandson suffers from Alopecia Areata. Hair falls out in circular bald patches. It can impact eyebrows or lashes too. It's harmless but visually concerning. Usually, it occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks hair follicles. But the good news is, hair often regrows naturally over time. To aid regrowth, dermatologists may prescribe steroid injections or creams. Consult a pediatric dermatologist for guidance and optimal treatment options.
