Last night my mom who is 50 years old wore my pants without washing them 1 or 2 hours after i took it off. She has never had stds or sti cause my dad and her were both virgins at the time they got married. I am very worried and she refuses to see a doctor cause she is afraid. I am not sure about the well being of her immune system casue she has rhuematiod arthritis . Please help i am in tears.

Answered by Dr. Ishmeet Kaur

HPV, especially type 45, is primarily spread through direct skin-to-skin contact, mainly sexual. The chance of transmission through shared clothing is low. However, considering your mother's health condition and her rheumatoid arthritis, it’s good to be cautious. Encourage her to see a gynecologist for proper advice and peace of mind.

Can you wear acrylics nails for a tonsillectomy

Female | 15

Acrylic nails aren't recommended before tonsillectomy surgery. Those fake nails could harbor germs, making hand hygiene tricky. During tonsillectomy, doctors remove tonsils, often due to infections or breathing issues. Clean hands prevent surgical site infections, so natural nails are only for this procedure. Wait until you've recovered fully before getting acrylics again.

acutally i have pimples and the dark sports made by pimple so how can i reduce it and make skin glow

Female | 16

Pimples and dark spots are very common and trouble a lot of people. The oil and bacteria are responsible for the development of pimples on the skin that result in inflammation. If the acne clears, the spots will be left behind. To treat them, use a mild face wash, don't pop your pimples, and use creams that contain retinol or vitamin C. Moreover, for healthy skin wear sunscreen every day.

The red and circular patches that have spread all over your body might be ringworm. This is a fungal infection that requires specific antifungal drugs like Terbinafine or Clotrimazole in many cases. The affected areas should be kept tidy and dry; loose clothes may also be worn.

Viligo on her body and face

Female | 19

Vitiligo is a condition where white patches develop on the skin and face. It occurs when cells that produce color for our skin die. Common signs include white spots appearing especially in areas exposed to sun. The root cause is not fully understood but it may be linked to problems with the immune system. Treatment options comprise using topical steroids, light therapy, and skin grafts. It is important to wear sunscreen to protect affected parts.

Please I've been over sweating this past week, I don't know why. I sweat a lot in sunny conditions, but this time it's soo much worse I don't know why. My height is 5 feet 5 and my weight is 90kg. Please what do you think the problem is?

Female | 22

Hyperhidrosis may be warned by profuse sweating, specially in sunny days. But one must rule out any underlying medical condition such as thyroid or inflammatory disease. I advise you to visit a dermatologist for assessment and diagnosis. They can offer treatments and guidance on the condition’s management.

Hello doctor. I am rohit bisht. I am 18 years old. Please suggest me how to recover and stop hair whitening

Male | 18

Hair going white with age or being genetic is a usual thing. Skin problems and tension also cause this. Do something for yourself if under stress; take deep breaths maybe start doing yoga. Have a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals as they play a crucial role in preventing premature greying. If possible use plant-based dyes because they don’t contain harmful chemicals however; don’t forget to handle your hair gently while dying it so that you may not end up damaging it further.

Hello I'm completed vaccine of ant rabies last may 22, 2024, but my cat bite me today, do I need to get vaccinated again?

Male | 15

Your rabies vaccine was completed last May, so you’re protected from getting infected by it. However, if a cat bit you today, watch out for any fever, headache or weakness that is abnormal. Seek medical attention immediately should you see any of these symptoms.
