Answered by Dr. Manas N

Acne can cause by hormonal changes, stress, genetics, or other factors. If you have acne that is filled with pus, it is likely that you have an infection. Consult a dermatologist as soon as possible in order to get the proper treatment. You may need topical medication, an antibiotic or other treatment to get rid of the infection and reduce the breakouts. Keep your skin clean and moisturized, avoid touching your face again and again, and limit your exposure to dust and pollution.

I have a 14 year old daughter who has a had a itchy raised red puffy bump on her left shoulder the last two days. It happened in the middle of her basketball game. It has gotten worse from her bra strap and shirt rubbing against it. I want to know what it is and how to fix this mystery.

Female | 14

Looks like your daughter has a skin irritation that is contact dermatitis. One common type is contact dermatitis, which is caused by something rubbing against the skin and triggering redness, itching, and swelling. This thing might be her bra strap or shirt, which is the cause of the rash on her skin when it rubs against it while she is playing basketball, To make her feel better, try to use a soothing lotion or cream and let her put on clothes that are not tight enough to prevent rubbing as much as possible.

Hello Doctor, Myself Anjali. I am 25.5 yrs old. I am having severe itching in my private part whenever i go outside in sun.

Female | Anjali

It seems you are facing a heat rash which is a common condition. Your skin gets too hot due to the sun and it can make your skin red, itchy, and throbbing. After a time, you should avoid wearing clothes that are too tight. Make sure to wear cool, loose-fitting clothes. Moreover, always keep below clean and dry when there is a chance of heat rash. Calamine lotion can also be a good option to use to relieve the burning skin. Drinking enough water is important.
