Irregular periods after abortion pill

Patient's Query

I am 23 yrs female. i was 1 month pregnant. i use unwanted kit. i got menses for the first day i had heavy bleeding, but after that the flow was reduced for 2-3days, and after that only spotting was there. Today is 8th day still there is spotting of blood. What should i do? Is it normal? please suggest me

Answered by Dr. Sayalee Karve

Period of bleeding post use of unwanted kit is usually for 2 days. Bleeding can usually be managed with sanitary pads designed for heavy flow.

Vaginal bleeding that is not heavy can last for 10–16 days post medical termination. In case if you continue to have bleeding or if you are concerned about the quantity or nature of bleeding at any time post medical termination, consult  Gynecologist near you.

It is common to experience bleeding and spotting after taking the Unwanted Kit. However, if the bleeding persists for more than 10 days or is heavy, it is important to seek medical attention. It is also recommended to use contraception to prevent unintended pregnancy in the future.

Usually 2 weeks after using an abortion pill, a woman may spot blood but continuous heavy bleeding for eight days requires the attention of a physician. Rules out incomplete abortion or infection.

I am a male ,and having difference in breast size , and after touching while sleeping I can feel some tissues in bigger one , my age is 29 years

Male | 29

The mass you feel in the larger part could be a sign of gynecomastia. It is due to the uneven formation of the right and left breast parts. It is not of the essence to seek the doctor's advice but in case you are uncomfortable other than talking to the doctor, you can go to the hospital to check the asymmetry.

I got my period on the 19th of November and it ended on the 25th of November. I had sex on the 1st of December without a condom and ejaculated outside. I bought and took Ella one emergency contraceptive pill in the afternoon of 2nd December. I just had sex again and also ejaculated outside, can I get pregnant?

Female | 25

Taking Ella one within 120 hours after unprotected sex reduces pregnancy risk . Ejaculating outside also reduces pregnancy risk . However , there is still a chance of pregnancy. Emergency contraceptives are not 100% effective. Use condoms for STI prevention.

Female | 19

Feeling worried after unprotected sex is normal. Anxiety is common in this situation. Emergency contraceptives like the 'i-pill' are most effective within 72 hours. Side effects like nausea or dizziness may occur but usually pass quickly. If you're unsure, taking the pill can help prevent pregnancy.

I cant calculate mu current period cycle as im having irregular period every month and want to get pregnant.

Female | 25

Disordered periods don't make the process of finding the fertile window easy at all. You should see your gynecologist or a fertility specialist and have him/her evaluate your menstrual history, as this is the best way to get advice on tracking ovulation. It will also raise your chances of conceiving.

Unconscious unrine during pregnancy, means delivery is due or else

Female | 34

Unconscious urine leakage during pregnancy, also known as urinary incontinence, can occur due to the pressure on the bladder from the growing uterus. It is relatively common during pregnancy, especially in the later stages when the baby's head puts pressure on the pelvic floor muscles.
