Can I Switch from L Folinine to Folvite Active?

Patient's Query

I am 6 weeks pregnant. I had been suggested by a doctor to either take L Folinine or folvite active for two months. I have been taking L folinine for 1 month. Now can I change it to Folvite active(due to unavailability of L folinine in my area) ? I noticed that the dosage of L methyl folate is different in both the tablets. (5mg in L folinine and 1mg in folvite active).

Answered by Dr. Mohit Saraogi

Folinine and Folvite Active have folic acid, a key nutrient for a baby's growth. Though doses vary, Folvite's 1mg should work too. Since Folinine isn't around, switch to Folvite Active to get enough folic acid. Keep taking it as instructed. But if anything feels off, check with your gynecologist again.

If you're experiencing irregular periods speak to your gynecologist. Getting irregular menstruation is common after you start menstruating. But if this is consistent then visit a gynec soon to find the reason and apt treatment for it

It's important to know why periods can be missed. Stress, sudden weight change, intense workouts, hormone irregularities, or some diseases might lead to this. It may not be safe to take period pills without knowing what caused it. Instead, go back to the doctor. They could conduct tests and find out the exact problem then give appropriate treatment.

Hlw mam period me sex ke baad ladki pregnant hoti hain ?

Male | 24

Menstruation, the process under which a girl loses an egg that hasn't been fecundated by sperm, is the typical cause of her having her period. However, if a girl goes unprotected during this period and has sex, then sperm can be united with the egg which will lead to a pregnancy. Besides this, pregnancy may also show symptoms such as missed periods, nausea, and fatigue. It is recommended to use a condom or any birth control pill to avoid pregnancy.

Missed period and late for 13 days. No other symptoms than spotting a week before

Female | 22

Missed periods could indicate various possibilities, including pregnancy. Spotting a week before your expected period could be an early sign of pregnancy, but it's also important to consider other factors that might be causing the delay. Take a pregnancy test for confirmation

I had unprotected sex on 7th February and had ipill later. Afterwards I got my period on 19th February. I had protected sex on 26th February and again on 11 March. I am 2 days late

Female | 22

Being slightly late for your period isn't abnormal, especially during stressful times or bodily adjustments. The unprotected sexual encounter on February 7th, followed by taking emergency contraception, could impact your cycle. That might explain your delayed period. Remember, stress, diet modifications, and illness can also affect menstruation. If you're still worried, a home pregnancy test can offer clarity.
