Could white patches on my hips be concerning?

Patient's Query

I am a 17 year old girl, recently I noticed some white small point sized or slightly bigger patches on my hips. I don't know what to do, but I'm afraid this might be some big disease.

Answered by Dr. Archit Aggarwal

It might be a common skin condition called pityriasis alba. This isn't something to worry about. Pityriasis alba can lead to pale patches on the skin, mainly on the face, neck, and arms. You can see them better in summer when your skin is darker. Dryness is what makes the skin turn lighter than it’s supposed to be, the reason for this happening is mostly because of dryness. You might also want to consider moisturizing your skin more often with lotion, or drinking plenty of water helps too. If there is no change after doing all these things then go to a dermatologist who will advise on treatment methods for this condition.

last month maine titness injection liya. ab fir se cut lag gaya ..kya mujhe fir titness injection lena chahie ..

Male | 36

Cuts can happen due to accidental injury or poor skills in injection administration. Just cleanse it with soap and water and then put an antiseptic cream on the minor cuts (non-deep cuts and the skin's surface). If it's deep or you notice infection symptoms such as redness, swelling, or pus, the best thing is to visit a healthcare provider for proper evaluation and treatment.

Male 52..lately i have this sour and white toungue..scrap it off..it gone..but will come back again..im a smoker and drinker..what causes this..is it alcohol or smoking or caffiene

Male | 52

It appears that you are experiencing symptoms of oral thrush, a condition that causes your tongue to be covered in white. Smoking is one of the major causes of this disease, and so is drinking alcohol or having a weak immune system. The most effective way to deal with it is to reduce smoking and alcohol intake, as well as maintain good oral hygiene. Additionally, drinking more water can also help.

I am suffering from a postpartum hair fall issue. What should I do?

Female | 30

Up to 50% of new moms suffer from normal postpartum hair loss due to such hormonal shifts. It typically spikes around 4-5 months and subsides in a period between six to twelve months. Pay attention to general health, softer hair washing and scalp massage. If hair loss is heavy, prolonged, or associated with scalp problems then it’s advised to see a dermatologist. You are not the only one, and your hair will likely be back to normal!

This will then require a medical specialist to assess the swelling and find out what causes it. It is recommended to visit a dermatologist in such cases, who can detect and treat skin diseases. However, do not attempt self diagnosis

I am 23 year old male, i have tinea versicolor from years. Till now I haven't taken any oral medical or any cream. How to cure it? Its from my childhood days. Location of tinea: only back( upper back left side) WHITE PATCHES Area: one palm size. It neither increases nor decreases. No other symptoms. Please guide

Male | 23

Tinea versicolor can be treated with antifungal creams. Please apply it to the affected area twice a day for 2 weeks. If you don't see any improvement, please try oral antifungal. Also, keep the area dry and clean and avoid wearing tight clothes as this can make the affected area sweaty. If the problem does not go away still, please consult a doctor for the same.

Hello doc, My problem is that I have several dark spots and pimples on my face. I had tried several topical medication it didn't work out and my skin colour got blackened. Can I have a solution for this, In quick period of time.

Male | 20

I advise you to follow a proper skincare routine which includes washing your face twice a day with gentle cleanser and using a moisturizer that suits your skin type. Also, while going out wear a sunscreen with at least SPF of 30. Also, exfoliating 1-2 times a week can help. And avoid touching or squeezing your pimples as this can make your problem worse. For more help and guidance regarding your dark spots, I recommend visiting a dermatologist. I hope this proved helpful.

I am 18-year old female and i have been experiencing throat pain, there’s small oranges bumps on the back of my throat, it hurts to sallow and my throat just looks red and swollen is also small patches on my tonsils.

Female | 18

You could have tonsillitis, a condition in which your tonsils become infected. It may be uneasy for you if your throat is red, swollen, and has small orange bumps and patches. Tonsillitis can be caused by viruses or bacteria. In more detail, the patient should follow the three instructions: drinking a lot of non-alcoholic fluids, sleeping more, and using over-the-counter analgesic medication that your healthcare provider recommended. The practice of gargling warm salty water will definitely sooth the pain as well. By that time the infection has not subsided; it can mean that you should see a physician for more care.

Pimples appearing on face which is best gel clindamycin phosphate gel with benzoyl peroxide or clindamycin phosphate gel with niacinamide??

Female | 21

Pimples can be annoying, but there are solutions to help. These spots come from blocked pores and germs. A gel with clindamycin phosphate and benzoyl peroxide can kill bacteria and reduce swelling. Alternatively, clindamycin phosphate with niacinamide may be better for redness and irritation. Both options work well, so you should pick the one best for your skin type. Not sure which to try? Start with one, then switch if it doesn't help.

How to take care of oily skin and damaged hairs?? I have been taking medication for TB since June 2020. I have oily skin and additionally pimples too, on my face, hand and back. My face is looks dull and open pores are visible. Color of my body is getting darker day by day. I had grey hair issue so I have used hair color but now my hair is totally damaged. Please suggest something for my problem

Female | 32

The acne has to be treated accordingly as it is appearing in many parts of the body. The acne medications will control excess oil. Tuberculosis treatment may affect your hair as well as skin. I thus urge you to meet a dermatologist nearby and get evaluated for further treatment. Also start using anti-oxidant capsules, they will help a lot.

What to do to get rid of blackheads on the face. And to brighten the face

Male | 25

Blackheads are minuscule black spots on your skin. They are a result of oil and dead skin blocking the pores on the skin. To clarify them, gently wash the pores once daily, never neglect the exfoliation part, and the third thing is to apply a non-come-genic moisturizer. Besides you can try using salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide products. Don't forget to wash your face thoroughly and moisturize it.
