My period was never on time instead it get delayed for even 6 months or more. But after medications i am getting my period. For few months i used Gynaset for period but since 3 months my period automatically comes. Since feb month i was using gynaset for period.(got period on 6th feb) But in march I get my period automatically on 31st(spotting) then again in april on 27th I saw spotting , my doc asked me to take gynaset so again i got my period on8th may...and this month june I got my period on 1st. But again spotting I am on fertyl tablet for conceiving. This time my period actually start after 25 days only. Now i kind of feel my spotting will even stop. What can be the reason for this?

Answered by Dr. Swapna Chekuri

There are many possible reasons for bleeding in between periods, including hormone imbalances, problems with the thyroid gland, or even certain medications. Since you’re trying to get pregnant, irregularities like these could affect your ability to conceive. I suggest talking to your gynecologist openly about them so that he/she can help you manage this situation properly.

Hi, I suspect that I'm pregnant because the last time I had my period was in August and surprisingly I had my period yesterday and today after intercourse clots are coming out... What's happening with me

According to your symptoms, you might be having a miscarriage or an ectopic pregnancy. I urge you to make an appointment with a gynecologist right away as these conditions require immediate medical assistance. A gynecologist will diagnose and treat you correctly.

I used ocp pill 7 days after intercourse after 7(14) days I had light bleeding and brown bleeding b. Is this a sign of pregnancy?

Female | 18

The light and brown bleeding you had after swallowing an OCP pill a week later following intercourse is not indicative of pregnancy. It is one of the common side effects related to your body due to hormonal changes which you experience when utilizing pills. However, one is advised to seek advice from their gynecologist in case they have any doubt or fear.

When spotting during your ovulation, this is usually not a matter of concern. But if the bleeding does not stop or worsen, or you feel pain and discomfort then it is recommended to visit your gynecologist. They will be able to diagnose and treat if needed.

You may be experiencing symptoms of a vaginal infection. Talk to your gynecologist for a proper diagnosis and treatment plan. Using over-the-counter creams or medications without a proper diagnosis can worsen the condition.

I had protected sex on the last day of my periods and to be safe I took an ipill after 24 hrs- 30 hrs. And now I have started to bleed again it's only been a week.

Female | 22

Taking emergency contraceptive pill after unprotected sex may lead to the changes in the menstrual cycle including irregular bleeding. Yet, bleeding within a week of taking an i-pill could also be a sign of hormonal imbalance or other medical conditions. However, the best option is a detailed examination and treatment by a gynecologist.

Is Orthopedic surgery during pregnancy safe? and what precautions should be taken?

Female | 33

First it is important to know what kind of surgery required. If it is considered necessary during pregnancy, consult with both an orthopedic surgeon and an obstetrician to carefully assess the risks and benefits and ensure the procedure is as safe as possible for both mother and baby.
