What to Do with Missed Pills Before Inactive Pills?

Patient's Query

I have been on the combination pill for four months. Sometime in my last pack I have missed two pills, I have no idea where. I am supposed to start my first inactive pill on Thursday. I had unprotected sex on Saturday and Sunday. I did take my pills in the week leading up to the unprotected sex. I do also know that I did not miss two consecutive pills. What do I do with the two left over pills? Do I still take the inactive pills for this pack?

Answered by Dr. Swapna Chekuri

If you miss two pills in a single pack, it may lower the effectiveness of the contraceptive in protecting you from becoming pregnant. The risk will obviously be minimal since they were non-consecutive. Take the remaining ones according to the instructions and begin the inactive pills as per your diary. In case you have any strange signs such as abnormal bleeding or spotting, use extra birth control methods and consult your gynecologist for more advice.

My period was due on November 4th And never showed.. it still wasn’t around by the 4th. so I had unprotected sex for the first time. And now I’m worried and don’t know what to do if my period doesn’t show up.

Female | 16

It is necessary to take a pregnancy test if you had unprotected sexual intercourse and the delay of your period occurs. While a negative result and the absence of your period require an additional check with consulting either gynecologists or obstetricians. They can determine if there is an underlying condition responsible for the delay and offer adequate treatment

I suggest you see a gynecologist if the vomiting and loss of appetite happens after taking the abortion pill. Such conditions might point to a partial abortion or infection.

I had sex during periods and my periods stops after only 2 daya is it normal or not ..??

Female | 18

When sexual activity occurs during menstruation, it can potentially disrupt the normal flow andcause the bleeding to taper off earlier than usual. This is generally considered normal and should not be a cause for significant concern. If you're concerned then please do a test to confirm.

I'm 19 years old I aborted pregnant 3 days ago and l had sex today, Can that lead to pregnant or not ?

Female | 19

Having sex right after an abortion increases the chances of getting pregnant again. Your body needs time to recover. Wait for a while before intimacy. An abortion causes changes needing healing. Having sex too soon risks complications. Take a break from intimacy for now. Use contraceptives when resuming sexual activity later.

I am 22 years old and my period is delayed 3 days so how can I get my period

Female | 22

It's okay, sometimes it's absolutely normal that periods can be delayed without any consequent harm, just wait before you start to worry about it. Stress, weight changes, or hormonal imbalances might be the culprits. Keeping track of any other symptoms you might have like cramps or mood swings can help a lot. Drinking plenty of water, eating healthy food, and sleeping enough might help you make your period regular.

Female | 17

The painful menstruation is common for many women. One should get some rest, warm up and use a heating pad to reduce the pain. However, if the pain is extreme or bleeding is severe, you are advised to see a gynecologist for accurate diagnosis and treatment.
