Patient's Query

I'm 29 and male, i feel mood swings, i wake at midnight then there's no sleep, there's salty sweat and salty saliva, i can't concentrate & forget things immediately, hair loss & weight loss

Answered by Dr. Babita Goel

With your signs of mood changes, severe sleep problems, and physical complications like hair loss and weight loss, you must get medical help in time. I would suggest that you try to consult with a psychiatrist who can establish the proper diagnosis through a comprehensive testing procedure. You should also see an endocrinologist for evaluation of these symptoms that may be due to the hormonal imbalance.

I am 23 year old currently working as an assistant Professor, but for past 3years I have developed the habit of talking while sleeping and sometimes I'm shouting out of fear in the night while sleeping this was told by my mother. What is the reason. I want reduce this.

Female | 23

You may have something called sleep talking or night terrors. When one is stressed or anxious, they may talk or shout while normally sleeping. You can try to reduce the stress before going to bed by using some relaxation techniques or maybe even have a quiet bedtime routine. But if that doesn’t work out then I would advise you to see a sleep specialist who will be able to help further.

Will I die of valium 5mg 30 pills and Xanax 0.5 30 pills with alcohol

Male | 32

Mixing Valium, Xanax, and alcohol can be extremely dangerous. They all influence the brain to slow down activities, which can result in respiratory difficulties, unconsciousness, and even death. Indications may involve sleepiness, bewilderment, slurred language, and a decrease in respiration. If you've mixed these, look for urgent medical care immediately. It's crucial never to combine these substances because it might be fatal.

Being upset and worried is hard to bear. These emotions are largely due to stress or life changes attributed to many causes. Some of the signs are constant worrying, being afraid, or a disturbed sleep schedule. So, talk to a person, like a friend, or a family member. Hello i had a panic attack yesterday and my hands and feet were going numb also my mouth so i went to the ER they did 2 syringes in my stomach of Aqua then they did one behind of diazepam i am a regular smoker and i wanted to smoke could i? If i cant should i buy a no nicotine pack?

Female | 16

The numbness of hands, feet, and mouth is the result of decreased blood flow in panic attacks. The effect of smoking on the body can make people suffer from panic attacks. Given the fact that you were prescribed diazepam at the ER, smoking might hurt it. Stay away from smoking as it is better for you. If you are in bad shape and have to, you can try a no-nicotine pack.

Your drooping spirits and the negatives in your thinking have the consequence of your behavior. Various causes of these signs are found hence people having been under a lot of stress or anxiety experience the same feeling. When you go through the emotions focus on the end of this exercise: slow breathing and calming of the soul. Besides, communicating with your close friends or even family members can be helpful. I was prescribed adderall and klonopins throughout most of my 20s. My doctor retired when I was 30 years old and I never got a new doctor, therefore I stopped getting my medications. I am now 40 and truly feel like I need to be back on my meds. What should I do to get prescribed my medications as soon as possible?

Male | 40

To get back on your medications, it's important to visit a psychiatrist or a general physician who can assess your current condition and prescribe the necessary treatment. Explain your medical history and the medications you were on. They will guide you on the best course of action and may restart your previous prescriptions after a thorough evaluation.

I've had this issue for a long time; the notion of having sex with my family members crosses my mind, and even though I know it's not ethically proper, I can't stop myself. Even the notion that the person with whom I want to have sex wants to have sex with me occurs to me. As a result, I've been into a lot of difficulty. I am always depressed.

As you said things are not ethically right, so it's always better to drop a task that will create problems in future and even difficulties in the family...

I was wondering if I might have something such as DID, as I have been experiencing some symptoms. 1: I have auditory hallucinatons from time to time, like people talking, or whispering my name. 2: I cannot remeber most of my childhood at all. 3: I also talk to myself a lot, like I am a different person. 4: I have visual hallucinations sometimes, like shadows in the corner of my eye 5: Also have trouble focusing sometimes 6: very impulsive sometimes 7: I also daydream alot, and usually for 30 minutes + I and my sister was verbally abused from 2016 to 2022. It stopped in 2022 because I pointed it out. My ‘alters’ aren’t so complicated they are just different aspects of myself really. Most of the time to the extreme though. Like one is me but angry, sad, etc. Once I had a bit of a dissociative fugue, when I kind of just fazed out on the bus and I came to, on the bus but at a different point in the road, and I had no memory of what had happened.

Male | 18

Based on the symptoms, your problem may be Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID). Consulting with an experienced psychiatrist or clinical psychologist, especially in the field of DID, is crucial in diagnosing and planning personalized treatment.
