Do I need to take my 4-month-old to the emergency room after a fall?

Patient's Query

my 4 months old baby fell out of bed hitting the back of her head, apart from a slight regurgitation (considering that he had just eaten) otherwise he seems fine, the pupils respond symmetrically when stimulated by light. Does She need to go to the emergency or have other checks at home

Answered by Dr. Narendra Rathi

You need to observe baby for 24-48 hours as some symptoms can develop later. It would be advisable to get baby examined by pediatrician.

I am a parent of 2 and half year old son.. i accidentally put fenlong in my baby's ear thought of ear drops.. pls do reply.. I am very much worried

Male | 2

I get why you're worried as a parent here. Putting things besides ear drops in the ear isn't good. Watch for signs like pain, redness, irritation, or hearing issues. If your child has any of those, take them to the doctor to get checked and treated right.

Female | 2

Your baby's health situation seems concerning. The echo test finding a hole, an ASD, is worrisome. This hole doesn't always close naturally as babies grow up. Sometimes, surgery becomes necessary to fix it. Watch for trouble breathing or poor growth as warning signs. Speak to your doctor about the ideal treatment path for your child.

It is important to have your 10-day-old baby examined by a pediatrician or a pediatric neurologist to determine the cause of the swelling on the head. They can assess if it's due to a normal variation or needs further evaluation and provide appropriate guidance based on the findings.

My 4yrs kid is having heavy cough and cold from 3-4 days. Its getting worse day by day. He is having continuous cough

Male | 4

Kids deal with coughing and colds differently. Typical signs include a drippy nose, sneezing fits, and lingering cough. Viruses spread easily, causing these issues. Make sure your kiddo drinks enough liquids, rests well, and uses a humidifier to alleviate coughing. You could offer honey as well. If your child appears very ill or struggles breathing, seek medical attention promptly.
