Two weeks after I had unprotected sex with a guy eight years ago I had potential HIV symptoms (a fever, chills etc) that lasted approximately 72 hours. I thought nothing of this at the time. Two and a half years later, I had sex with an undetectable man, but had no idea about this at the time. I found out a short time later (I think about three weeks later) and got an HIV self-test done (a fingerprick test) and it came back negative. I guess this means I'm HIV negative, seeing as undetectable = untransmissible coupled with the fact that HIV would have shown up on the test two and a half years after potential exposure, so it couldn't be a false negative result? I've had safe sex ever since, but I'm just curious as to what this could be, seeing as I didn't take another test after that due to my use of condoms. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If you had an HIV test that came back negative after the potential exposure and it was performed within the appropriate window period, it is likely an accurate result. Its better to get it confirmed with your gynecologist.

I am 24 years old my last period was on 25 April and after that on 3rd june I got brown discharge for two days , am I pregnant?

Female | 24

There are many different reasons why someone may experience brown discharge after their period. It is not necessarily an indication of pregnancy. It could be caused by hormonal changes, stress, or irregularities in the menstrual cycle. Feeling tired all the time, nausea, or tenderness in your breasts can be signs and symptoms that suggest you might be pregnant. To be sure, take a home pregnancy test.

Hi doctor jus a quick question I have birth in December and is currently breastfeeding is it safe to perm my hair and take metronidazole b500mg tablets

Female | 22

Its not recommended to undergo hair perming or coloring during pregnancy or while breastfeeding as the chemicals used in these treatments can be harmful to the baby. Moreover the safety of metronidazole while breastfeeding is not clear, as the medication can be excreted in breast milk and may cause side effects in the baby.

I am a male ,and having difference in breast size , and after touching while sleeping I can feel some tissues in bigger one , my age is 29 years

Male | 29

The mass you feel in the larger part could be a sign of gynecomastia. It is due to the uneven formation of the right and left breast parts. It is not of the essence to seek the doctor's advice but in case you are uncomfortable other than talking to the doctor, you can go to the hospital to check the asymmetry.

Can I breastfeed while having alcoho

Female | 28

It is generally recommended to avoid consuming alcohol while breastfeeding, as alcohol can pass into breast milk and affect your baby. Even small amounts of alcohol can potentially be harmful to a nursing infant. When you consume alcohol, it enters your bloodstream, and some of it will be present in your breast milk. As a result, your baby will consume the alcohol when they breastfeed. Infants metabolize alcohol at a slower rate than adults, which means it can take longer for their bodies to eliminate it.

Alcohol consumption while breastfeeding can have several negative effects on your baby. And the safest approach for your baby's health is to abstain from alcohol while breastfeeding.
