Dental x-ray will help you in determining the cause of dental pain. It will show you the extent of damage caused by the cavity.

Dental x-ray will also determine fracture, if present. Dental x-ray is also helpful to diagnose any sort of cyst present in badly infected tooth. It also serves as a record for your treatment done.

"Is it safe and appropriate for me to use Chlorhexidine mouthwash regularly, diluted with water, as part of my morning oral hygiene routine, and if so, what would be the recommended concentration and frequency of use for my specific oral health needs?"

Male | 15

Absolutely, the use of diluted Chlorhexidine mouthwash with water in the morning routine of oral care can be safe and helpful. The usual concentration is 0.12% and it can be used once or twice per day. This mouthwash is good for inflammation of gums, plaque as well as bacteria in the mouth. To get the best outcome, do not swallow and follow directions cautiously.

I have toothache due to cavity and I feel like that gum is also swelling so can you suggest medicine for this problem.

Male | 29

The tooth starts to ache which suggests that you may have a cavity. If you do not take care of it properly, it may go on to the neighboring teeth, thus causing the recurrence of the problem. This happens because the bacteria are attacking the affected tooth and the gum. The main thing you need to do is to avoid sweets to cut off the bacteria that are contributing to the problem. In particular, ibuprofen, an over-the-counter medicine, and sometimes a prescription, are all good options.

Can tooth decay be reversed?

Female | 39

The short answer is “no” but the long answer is “sort of.”  Here’s why:

The earliest stage of tooth decay or a cavity is demineralized enamel. The outer layer of enamel becomes weak and soft, due to acids and plaque biofilm coming into contact with it on an extended basis.

Fortunately, demineralized enamel can — to an extent — be remineralized before a physical cavity (hole) ruptures through the surface.

What are some ways to help this happen?

  • Improved hygiene and plaque removal on an everyday basis
  • Protective dental sealants over deep grooves and fissures, which are someof the most cavity-prone surfaces
  • Drinking fluoridated tap water throughout the day
  • Supplementation with a prescription strength fluoride or mouthrinse, providedby your dentist
  • Use of everyday oral hygiene products that contain fluoride
  • Eating more fresh fruits and vegetables, sharp cheddar cheese, and fewerprocessed carbohydrates
  • Eliminating acidic beverages and those that contain natural or artificial-sweeteners

The types of cells that make up your teeth do not re-grow or repair themselves after the tooth is fully developed.

Once a tooth has a physical cavity (opening or hole) inside of it, there is no feasible way to help the enamel grow back on your own. Instead, the cavity will gradually worsen, due to the bacterial infection inside of the tooth structure.

Ideally, you would want to treat the cavity as soon as it’s diagnosed and while it’s as small as possible. When you do, your dentist can place a minimally invasive filling and preserve as much healthy tooth structure as possible.

But untreated cavities will expand to the point that they require larger fillings. Or worse, they will reach into the nerve chamber and create an abscess. What could have initially been treated with a modest restoration now becomes a situation requiring a root canal and a crown

Male | 20

Drinking mouthwash by accident brings concern. Chlorhexidine is strong; it may cause stomach pain, nausea, and dizziness. These effects could go away alone. Drink lots of water to dilute mouthwash. But if unwell or your issues continue, seek medical care.

Hi can braces help me to align my teeth? Or are there other options too? See I am a college girl. My teeth are not properly set. I wanted to fix it. But also I have seen one of my cousins had to wear the braces for quite a long time and it is very difficult sometimes to eat. So is there any other way to align the teeth? To whom should I consult? I am from Silivri.

Female | 23

yes braces can align your teeth. You have to consult an orthodontist. other ways of alignment of teeth are Invisalign or aligners and ceramic braces. if your teeth correction are moderate then aligners can help but if too much complex then only option is braces. You can go for self ligation braces which is much more comfortable
