I am 15 years old and I’ve had a really bad tonsil pain on the right side for the last 4 days, my tonsil looks swollen and it has a bunch of white stuff around it and it bleeds every once in a while. What should I do?

Symptoms may include throat pain, swollen tonsils with white patches and sometimes bleeding. To relieve these symptoms you must drink fluids, rest well, and gargle with warm salt water gently. Additionally, pain gets even worse when a person is stressed sometimes. Try to take some time off your studies and relax, use a warm cloth or over-the-counter painkillers may relieve this pain. Hello I am 18 years old I have a problem in my right ear, whenever temperature rises or, I put my ear on pillow during sleeping my ear becomes extreme red and I feel very hot in my ear ,before 2 years I have a fungal infection on my ear,and since that time I have taken many iteraconazole capsules and luliconazole cream, my fungal infection gone but my ear redness is still there, I feel very uncomfortable due to this redness and hot ear please help me

You might have an inflammation in your right ear. This could be due to the previous fungal infection. The redness and heat you feel could be the result of your body reacting to the irritation. I advise that you see an ENT specialist so that they can check your ear and give you the right treatment.

Dear Doctor, I'm an 18-year-old male. About 15-16 days ago, I had a really bad cold with symptoms including a sore throat, headache, and fever. After 7-8 days, my cold symptoms healed, but I still had a sore throat, hoarse voice, a completely blocked right ear, and I was constantly coughing up green mucus. Four days ago, I visited a doctor and was prescribed moxifloxacin 400mg once a day for 5 days (today is day 3). While my coughing has generally decreased, I still have a sore throat and my right ear is still blocked, although it did briefly open for a few minutes yesterday. This has been ongoing for three weeks, and I'm starting to lose hope as I'm not sure what I have or if I'll get better. In addition to moxifloxacin, here are the other medications I'm currently taking: Nasacort AQ (once a day) - today is day 6 Phenadone (twice a day) - today is day 8 Nexium (once a day) - today is day 6 Ganaton (three times a day) - today is day 6 Seretide Accuhaler Diskus (twice a day) - today is day 8 Polymer Adult Hypertonic 3% (twice a day) - today is day 3 Could you please help me understand what might be causing these persistent symptoms and advise on any further steps I should take? Thank you for your assistance.

When someone coughs up green phlegm, that means they have an infection. Your condition may be because of a stubborn bacterial infection which will need more time to completely clear up. Take your medicine as prescribed and ensure you finish the full course of antibiotics. If your symptoms continue or get worse then I think it’d be wise for you to go to an ENT specialist so they can conduct further tests on you.
