My son 30yrs of age detected for Myotonic Muscular dystrophy 1 since 2014. Can he get any treatment or better advice from ur hospital.

While there's no cure for this treatment but it can be managed based on symptoms, and thus treatments may vary based on the needs of patient.
This would require a multi-disciplinary team, but neurologist will be the main person, so refer our page so as to find them - Neurologists in India.

We do not treat or counsel people ourselves but we provide guidance to users with regards to their diseases and possible treatment options.

I am murugaiyan I have trouble with headache recent 15 days MRI scan report tells brain tumor and need an operation so my question is how much cost for brain tumor surgery in your hospital

For the removal of brain tumors, the following are your surgical procedures:

  • Craniotomy: There's an opening made on the skull. Following which, the surgeon removes as much of the tumor as is possible to.
Even partial or complete removal helps relieve symptoms and as an added advantage can also reduce the amount of tumor to be treated by radiation therapy or chemotherapy.
  • Biopsy: If the tumors cannot be removed manually, then to know which other therapies will be effective in destroying them, a surgeon will scrape out a small piece of the tumor and study its composition using a microscope so as to decide further course of treatment.
    • Stereotaxis: Doctors utilize a special head frame (like a halo) and CT scans or MRI, so as to find the exact location of the tumor. The surgeon makes a small hole in the skull and then guides the needle all the way to the tumor.
    • More Advanced Techniques to enhance your biopsy:
      • Brain mapping to find functional pathways near tumors and prevent organ damage.
      • Endoscopy for biopsies and spinal fluid pathways.
      • Intraoperative MRI also is available to increase the rate of tumor removal.

The cost of brain tumor surgery removal in India is: Rs. 2,50,000 to 7,50,000. However, the actual prices may exceed the given range, and the prices vary depending upon the location of center, the experience of surgeon, preferred surgery choice, severity of concern and other technologies to enhance surgeries, also value-added services provided by your centre.

We do not provide such surgeries ourselves, but you can use our network to find doctors who provide such services at reasonable prices, do discuss their success rate, their set criteria for qualifying eligible patients for these surgical treatments, pre-operative measure & post-operation care, as well as side effects & risks - Neurosurgeon in India.

Recently my father diagnosed with diffused cerebral autrophy with chronic microangiopathic changes involving deep hemispheric white matter (fazekas Grade 2 white matter hyperintensities) Kindly suggest what to do ?

Currently there is no specific treatment for managing white matter lesions/hyperintensities. The goal is to treat the reason of the damage and cease the progression and worsening of the disease.

Depending on the reason of damage, the doctor will start you on blood pressure lowering or cholesterol lowering medicines.

In case you have a social habit such as smoking, then it is suggested to quit smoking at the earliest for preventing any further damage.

Consult a neurologist for further treatment.

I am feeling dizzyness and heavyness on right side of temple in forehead and pressure in forehead, ear, cheek, and nose block on right side of the face. Please suggest me diagnosis and treatment.

As per the complaints, this is a case of Sinusitis.

If you have sinusitis, the doctor may be able to recommend additional medications to relieve your symptoms, such as steroid nasal sprays or drops to reduce sinus swelling.

antihistamines - if your symptoms are caused by an allergy

Antibiotics - if you have a bacterial infection and are severely sick or at risk of consequences, antibiotics may be prescribed (but antibiotics are often not needed, as sinusitis is usually caused by a virus)
