How Can I Lose Weight Quickly And Effectively?

Losing weight can be tough, but don't worry, there are other ways to help. Until quick weight loss, you could continue healthy nutrition and maintain physical activity. Additionally, the reasons for being overweight are not only overeating but also health problems such as an impaired metabolic system. On the other hand, if the weights are not reducing, this might be because of the lack of certain medical conditions like delayed metabolism or many different hormonal imbalances. If you are unable to lose weight, visit a bariatric surgeon to find out which issues are hidden.

Why am I not gaining weight as a footballer?

If you feel tired and don’t see any increase on the scale, it could be that you’re not eating enough to fuel your body. You should eat more calories than the average person because of how much running around you do on the field. Make sure to have a lot of carbs, protein, and healthy fats in each meal so you get all the nutrients necessary for good performance. Consider creating a menu with a nutritionist that supports your energy needs.

I am retired Banker. I gained weight suddenly. Now I'm 85kg. I used to be 74-75 kg. My mother was having artheritise. I want to take precaution. Please help me.

Focus on eating a balanced diet that is low in fat and sugar, and high in fiber. Do physical activity regularly like walking, jogging, biking, swimming or any other form of exercise. But make sure you don't have any joint issues. Aim for at least 30 minutes of exercise a day. It is also important to reduce stress and make sure to visit your doctor regularly to discuss any further health concerns.

I am a 21-year-old female in Pune. I have hypothyroidism, PCOD, and high blood insulin. I have been trying to lose weight for about 6 to 7 years now. I have tried cycling, working out, dieting, power yoga, walking, and badminton but nothing seems to help or work on my body. I am considering liposuction, what should I do?

Liposuction is not a weight loss surgery or procedure, it can be helpful only if you have deposits of fats stored within certain locations of your body and if it refuses to burn out no matter how much weight you lose or how fit your body is overall. Additionally, you are either not an ideal candidate, or straight up ineligible if you have suppressed immune system, heart disease, diabetes, problems with blood flow, are not 30% within your ideal weight, don't have a firm or elastic skin, or if you smoke. With the description you gave regarding your health issues, you should avoid this.
Diets and drugs means to lose weight seems to be the most possible options for you, but you may consult a specialist by referring our page to get more information - Obesity Specialists in Mumbai. Let us know if you reside in a different city, and come to us if you have any other doubt which is still not addressed!

Heyyy I am 19 year old guy with a height of 5'4" and weight is 100 kg and especially the lower part of my body is very fatty like thighs and hips , could you please tell me the estimate of the surgery if i want to have to remove fat

Your weight loss treatment will begin with dieting, exercise and lifestyle modifications, and in the event that they don't yield desired results, only then will you be considered for some medication or surgical treatment, but they would be parallel to your dieting, exercising, and lifestyle efforts.

  • To put you on medication, your doctor will first expect you to meet one of the following criterions, in case clinical prescriptions aren't sufficient:
    • Your body mass index (BMI) is equal to or greater than 30.
    • Your BMI is greater than 27.
    • But if you have medical complications related to obesity as well, such as diabetes, high blood pressure or sleep apnea, or anything else, then discuss with the doctor.
    • Note: There could be side effects & risks for each, so keep your doctor updated on regular basis.

IMPORTANT:
There are surgeries meant to remove fats, but those specific surgeries are reserved only for those individuals who are not obese/fat overall, if you are obese then you will qualify for the surgeries below that are only concerned with limiting your food intake.

  • Endoscopic surgeries: they are less invasive and are concerned with surgical procedures which limit your capacity to consume food, such as the methods mentioned below:
    • Putting stitches in your stomach to reduce its size and its capacity to consume food.
    • Or inserting a small balloon into your stomach, which is then filled with water to reduce the amount of space available. This helps you feel fuller faster.

  • Bariatric surgeries: These surgical procedures have the same role as endoscopic surgeries, but with more invasive technologies.
    • You will qualify for them if earlier treatments failed, but your BMI will have to be between 35 to 40, and especially so, if the same is coupled with some serious weight-related problem, such as diabetes or high blood pressure.
    • The procedures are as follows: gastric by-pass, adjustable gastric banding, biliopancreatic diversion with duodenal switch, and gastric sleeve.

  • Vagal nerve blockade:
    • It involves planting a device under the skin of your abdomen, which will send intermittent electrical signals to the abdominal vagus nerve, it is concerned with informing the brain when the stomach is empty or full.
    • Can be used for adults who have not been able to lose weight, or who have a BMI of 35 to 45, either/both with at least one obesity-related condition.

  • Rough cost estimate:
    • The surgical procedures will cost anywhere between Rs. 2,25,000 to Rs. 7,00,000.
    • Whereas for dieting-related consultation it can vary from rs. 1,200 to rs. 20,000.

For more information regarding obesity treatment, you can visit experts - Dietitian/Nutritionists, let us know if your city is different, and drop us a message if you have any other concern!

To pick a suitable specialist, discuss/look-out for these aspects:

  • Past experiences & success rates.
  • Common side effects & risks of such procedures.
  • Pre-treatment preparations & post-treatment care.
  • Candidate eligibility to undergo these treatments.
  • Revision course in case you run into risks &/or achieve undesirable outcomes -- or correction course in case you are ineligible to undergo this operation in future.
  • Detailed information about how they will perform these treatments & what outcomes they intend to achieve (permanent cure/reducing the degree of problem/preventing further progress).
  • Pay utmost attention to hygiene and sterilized tools - as unsterilized equipment can cause infection.
