Hello, I am suffering from a dry skin itching problem. Please suggest some treatments.

Answered by Farida Lokhandwala

Hello, The best solution for dry itchy skin is to moisturize it daily especially immediately after your bath when the skin is still damp, to lock the moisture in. Apart from this, there are few tips that will keep your skin from drying up like avoid washing your hands frequently, bathe with lukewarm or cool water and pat yourself dry. Further, avoid using products containing alcohol as it dries out the skin. Wear soft cotton or silk clothes. But if you have extreme itchiness, then you should visit a doctor as it might be due to some allergic reaction or skin disorder such as psoriasis or eczema. Hope our answer helps you. With this we would also like to bring to your attention our page which is built around your needs and requirements, it has all the relevant service providers - Skin Treatment doctors in Mumbai, let us know if your area of residence is different, and feel free to approach us whenever in any doubt or confusion!

25 year old men, i have bumps on my penis, top left part, seems like herpes, im not sure, my groing is itching

Male | 25

Lumps that develop near the penis may be caused by several factors. They may be herpes if they're either tender or similar to blisters. Moreover, among other signs, you might also experience some irritation in the groin. Herpes is an infectious virus that can be transmitted from one individual to another through sexual intercourse. However, to make sure, it is better to visit your healthcare provider and undergo the necessary tests. Proper medication and expert advice are necessary for the prevention and care of it.

My mother has developed red patches on skin all over her body. Initially it occurs as a small red patch and then it widens and spreads . These red patches have occurred on her neck, breast, tummy, legs, head, back, elbow , everywhere. She has also developed cuts on her finger. It itches and burns very much. What is the diagnosis of this skin disease?

Female | 55

Your description of the symptoms leads me to believe that your mother has a skin condition called eczema. Eczema is characterized by the appearance of red, itchy patches on the skin. It can be caused or aggravated by certain substances or environmental factors. To alleviate the symptoms, it is necessary to maintain the skin's hydration and avoid irritants. Using mild soaps and wearing comfortable, breathable clothes can also be helpful.

Can i get hpv from sharing clothes , towels or my personal items or objects from someone who has genital warts ?

Male | 32

Genital warts are caused by a virus known as HPV. It is impossible to be infected with HPV through the sharing of clothes, towels, or objects of personal hygiene. The most common way for HPV to spread is through skin-to-skin contact, usually during sexual activity. The general symptoms of genital warts are the presence of small, flesh-colored bumps in the genital area. In case you happen to be concerned about HPV then the best thing to do is to talk to a healthcare provider about preventing and treating it.

If the cut is not all better, it is important to look for signs of infection. Look for red skin, swelling, warmth, or pus near the bite spot.
