How Should I Address Uric Acid, Thyroid, and Vitamin-D Issues?

Patient's Query

I am 29 years old lady who is suffering from uric acid, thyroid and Vitamin -D deficiency. Previously I am on medication for thyroid only. I am suffering from acute pain in heels of my right leg and there is swelling in both legs. I am banker as per my profession so it's my sitting as well as moving job. Please give your advice what shall I do? My tests has been done on 10/6/24 Uric acid:7.1 Thyroid (TSH): 8.76 Vitamin - D: 4.15

Answered by Dr. Babita Goel

You should see a rheumatologist for your uric acid issue and a specialist endocrinologist for your thyroid problem. For Vitamin D deficiency, a general physician or an endocrinologist can help. The pain and swelling in your legs could be due to high uric acid levels or thyroid issues. It's best to consult these specialists for proper treatment.

Hi, i am a 30 year old male. i have panhypopituarism. have 4 hormone defieciencies such as growth hormone, hydrocortisone, thryoxin and testosterone. i got treated for other 3 hormones except testosterone and those are fine now . i went to 170cm height from 110 cm. after the HGH replacement. and for other two i am taking those as tablets. Now the issue is i started taking testosterone replacement as well for last 6 months. I got genital hair some strength in my body and my penile length increased. can get semen out from fapping. but the issue is testes havent dropped or descended. my flaccid penis is too small like a toddler. when erected its 6 inches. will it get ok by the time ? or any serious concerns

Male | 30

Your hormone therapies' progress is wonderful. Changes often require patience, so don't fret. Continued testosterone treatment may aid your underdeveloped testes and small flaccid penis symptoms. However, consulting your doctor about concerns ensures proper progress tracking.

I'm Farhanaz Parvin I'm 27 years old. HCG 5000 is not working for me.how to take 1000hcg injection?is there a gap of 12 hours will it works?

Female | 27

If the 5000 HCG isn't working well for you, it's best to bring to your doctor's attention for a dosage adjustment. The 1000 HCG injection plus 12 hours is not likely to work and may even cause side effects. The resulting signs can be hormone disturbances and pregnancy problems. The doctor will indicate the correct dosage to help you feel better.

Increased risk for diabetes (prediabetes): 5.7-6.4% Diabetes: > or =6.5% When using Hemoglobin A1c to diagnose diabetes, an elevated Hemoglobin A1c should be confirmed with a repeat measurement, fasting glucose, or other test for diagnosing diabetes. All hemoglobin A1c methods are affected by conditions that increase or decrease red blood cell survival. Falsely high results may be seen with iron deficiency or splenectomy. Falsely normal or low results may be seen with hemolytic anemias, unstable hemoglobins, end-stage renal disease, recent or chronic blood loss, or following transfusions. Hemoglobin A1C View trends Normal range: 4.0 - 5.6 % 4 5.6 4.6 Estimated Average Glucose View trends mg/dL Value 85

Female | 27

If you have a Hemoglobin A1c level of 5.7-6.4%, you are at risk for diabetes. If your level is 6.5% or higher, it means that you have diabetes. Signs of this condition include thirstiness, frequent urination, weariness, or unclear eyesight at times. Overeating, genetics combined with little or no physical activity could be the cause behind it all or some of these symptoms coming up. Controlling your blood sugar requires eating well-balanced meals regularly and exercising often if not daily; medication may also be necessary depending on other factors such as age, sex, race, etc.

i am 17 years old and im not sure if ive hit puberty. i have pubic hair but no facial or chest hair, and my penis and testicles have not grown, this is emberassing for me.

Male | 17

It's okay to be upset by the changes in your body in puberty. If there's hair down there, puberty has started. Other things like beards or chest hair might take longer to show up. It's also fine if your penis and testicles are kind of small right now - they grow at different rates for everyone.

Hi my vitamin d tests came back as 26.3 Can i take vit d3 60000iu capsule weekly once and till how much time i should continue

Male | 39

You have low vitamin D, only 26.3. That's too little. Low vitamin D causes tiredness, weak muscles, and bone pain. Take 60000 IU vitamin D3 capsules weekly. Do it for 8 to 12 weeks, or how long your doctor says. Get tested again to check if your levels improve. Eat healthy foods and spend some time in the sun to raise vitamin D further.

75years of age ,from few days feeling too much hot in body ,can't eat anything,if I eat feel like my head wl burst and BP high n low both ,feeling too much restlessness

Male | 75

These might be symptoms of many things such as an infection or not drinking enough fluid. However, there are some things which could help in the meantime: make sure that you drink plenty of water, and get some rest. But if this goes on much longer without any improvement then I would advise seeking medical attention. They can give you proper treatment for whatever is causing all these different problems.

Untreated diabetes weight loss medication and urine smells like sewer

Female | 44

If you do not take care of diabetes, you may lose weight. Your pee might also smell bad. This happens when your body cannot use sugar right. It starts using fat and muscle for energy instead. This causes weight loss. To fix this, you must control your diabetes. Eat healthy foods, exercise, and take medicine as told. This will help keep your blood sugar levels normal.

Female | 21

You want to get fit. Being too thin can happen if your body uses up food fast or if you do not eat a lot. To gain weight, eat good stuff like fruits, veggies, grains, and protein. Do not skip meals. Eat often. As for breasts, they come in all shapes and sizes for each girl. Pills may not change them much.

My vitamin b12 level is 61 what should I do my doctor has suggest injection but I don't want to take injection then he suggest flower od cap can I get my b12 requirements fullfill form this tablet

Female | 16

A large amount of B12 could induce numerous health problems such as exhaustion, susceptibility, and a tingling sensation in the hands and feet. Lack of B12 in your food and drink is the main cause. Consuming a B12 supplement such as a flower od cap can increase your levels, HOWEVER, the injections are more reliable and quicker. One good way to go about this is to have regular doctor visits so one can get enough B12 for the proper functioning of their body.

Hi! I will be undergoing dexamethasone suppression testing and I accidentally took my pill at 10pm instead of 11pm. Can I still get my blood withdraw tomorrow at 8am? Thank you!

Female | 32

When it comes to dexamethasone suppression testing, timing is everything. If you take the pill an hour early it shouldn’t be a big deal. It's not likely to significantly alter the results of the test. You should still be able to have your blood drawn at 8 am tomorrow. Just try and follow the prescribed schedule next time for more accurate results.

I have been experiencing joint pains, PCOS, vitamin deficiencies, and mental health issues for the past 4 years. joint pains are exacerbated by activities like walking and standing. I have self-tested for deficiencies and are afraid to visit a doctor joint pains and muscle pains are rated at a severity level of 9 out of 10. I have noticed neck darkness, pimples on your face, and excess underarm fat and darkening. I had plantar facilities and breast abscess and bartholin cyst in past history.

Female | 25

Many symptoms are bothering you. Inflammation in the body causing joint pain may be related to PCOS and vitamin deficiencies. Hormonal imbalances could be one reason why your neck has become darker along with the skin underarms. A good way to reduce these signs is to eat balanced meals regularly, exercise often, and manage stress properly. If necessary, you should also take care of yourself more than anything else by seeking help from a medical professional.

Your body may not answer well to insulin, causing elevated blood sugar levels - that's insulin resistance. Taking fennel seeds water is a familiar home treatment, yet proof of its direct effect on decreasing blood sugar amounts is lacking. Female | 19

Hormonal imbalances with hyperthyroidism can alter your cycle. This may lead to light, scanty menstruation. The good news is that when you return home, it becomes normal again but changes after some time. For you, adjusting medications could be useful in balancing hormones as well as enhancing flow during menses. Have a talk with your doctor about this.
