What are stone-like growth and black line on teeth?

Patient's Query

I have a question about my teeth. I found a small, stone or teeth like structure on the left side of my teeth at the end without any pain, redness, or swelling. There's also a black line on one tooth that doesn't appear to be a cavity and doesn't hurt or is sensitive. Can you help me understand these issues, I have attached the pictures.

Answered by Dr. Vrishti Bansal

The stone-like thing in the pictures you sent looks like a small tooth deposit. The black line could be stained or cracked. Tooth deposits can form from leftover plaque. Stains might come from food or drink. It is good you have no pain, red, or swell - that is a nice sign. To fix this, make sure to brush and floss a lot. Also, see your dentist for a check and clean. They can take care of these things for you.

Questions & Answers on "Dental Treatement" (227)

I had done a dental crown on my upper jawline. 2 years back, it has removed on its own. I thought it wouldn't be a problem and ignored the matter. Yesterday I visited my dentist and he said without a crown, the decay spread to my gum and surgery is the only option. But I am really scared. Is there any other option except surgery? Is there any risk if I go for surgery?

Female | 46

yes it happens but surgery will not be a major one It will be a minor one and not much complications. Also depends on which teeth it will be done and x ray is a must.

I have operated my teeth from a orthodontist at the age of 14 .I had crooked teeth . After investing my 1 year my teeth were aligned. I had braces these year. Now at the age of 24 I can see my teeth are aligning back to their original spaces they are getting crooked again. I want to know about what to do next.

Female | 24

It sounds like your teeth are going back to their original positions again. This is possible to happen in the case that you do not use your retainers according to the plan of your orthodontist. The deletion of the braces, and retainers are useful for keeping teeth in their new position. They are the ones responsible for the extraction of teeth which in turn migrate back. The first and the most important step to stop it would be to rank shifting to acutely wearing the retainer again. Be relaxed, talk to your orthodontist, and ask for instructions.

See a dentist as soon as possible. Take pain relief medication as prescribed to manage the pain. Do not delay seeking dental care, as untreated dental issues can lead to more serious problems.

How long does the dental care take?

Female | 55

The duration in dental care can vary according to the therapy required. Routine checks and cleanings tend to last around thirty minutes to one hour. But root canals and dental implants more complex procedures could mean more visits spanning over a couple of weeks. It is advisable that you visit the dentist for a better diagnosis and treatment plan.

My son is 17 now. We have noticed that his gum is becoming black. He doesn't smoke yet. Is it a kind of infection or disease? Can you please suggest a good doctor in Ankara?

it could be a periodontal disease, clinical examination is a must in such cases. after that maybe a deep subgingival scaling or a flap surgery on the gums would help solve this problem

Sir I drink accedently chlorhexidine mouthwash little bit what should I do now please help me

Male | 20

Drinking mouthwash by accident brings concern. Chlorhexidine is strong; it may cause stomach pain, nausea, and dizziness. These effects could go away alone. Drink lots of water to dilute mouthwash. But if unwell or your issues continue, seek medical care.

Frenulum tear pain and irritation ............

Male | 28

A broken frenulum occurs when the gentle piece of fabric fastening your tongue or in another part of your body gets pulled or torn apart. You may experience pain or irritation, primarily when moving or moving your tongue or doing activities that affect that area. Occasionally, it may bleed slightly. I’m 32 years old male and have tooth gap in the front two teeth since years. Looking for the quick treatment without any harmful effects in longevity.

Male | 32

Hi
if you want a quick treatment you can go for tooth colored composite fillings or pircrksin veneer .
But bothe these treatments have to be redone after few years
Long term treatment would be braces but more permanent.
