Both legs Foot drop problem since 2 years. I am very upset for this. So please tell me can you treat this? Please let me know.

Male | 26

You need thorough clinical examination with a multidisciplinary team of Orthopedic Surgeon/Neurologists. We need to find out at which neural level is the existing problem Eg. Spinal cord, Peripheral nerve. This should be done ASAP which would improve the chances of recovery.

My father is extremely overweight and has COPD and Emphysema, can he have a hip replacement

Male | 78

YES, your FATHER can have a hip replacement surgery.. However, his weight and lung problems can increase the risk of complications during and after the surgery. He will need to work closely with his doctors to prepare for the surgery and manage his conditions. Losing weight and improving lung function before the surgery can help reduce the risk of complications and improve the outcome.. It is important that he follows his doctor's advice and instructions for a safe and successful surgery..

I have had patellar tendon repair surgery 3 weeks ago . I am now experiencing a burning sensation and tenderness does this mean the tendon has retorn or is this normal

Female | 26

It is a common issue among patients after the patellar tendon repair to have to deal with a burning sensation and tenderness. This may inflammation or irritation in the specific area of the operation as it is healing. These signs are normally a part of the healing process and are not the right indication of the recurrence of the tendon. To relieve the pain, you can wrap your leg with an elastic bandage and put it on the top of the pillows. Strictly follow your post-op care instructions and attend the follow-up appointments to let your doctor track your recovery.

I've been having knee pains for a few years but never very bad. Last year, I hyperextended my knee and ever since I'll have someday where I almost don't feel any pain, and other days where I feel like it's ready to just give out. Is there any advice on what this could be or how I could treat it?

Male | 15

Persistent knee pain along with hyperextension injury should be evaluated by a healthcare professional. It could be due to ligamentous injury, meniscal tear, or patellofemoral pain syndrome. Some rest and pain medications can provide temporary relief.
