Throat Stinginess Resolved, Now Experiencing Chest Pain?

Patient's Query

Was having mild stinginess in my throat in january and was prescribed rabeloc for 1 month followed by esomeprazole for another month. After the completion of my dose my throat was fine and the medication stopped. But in 1 week I was having a severe stabbing chest pain stomach pain . Is it because I stopped the medication or something else. As before starting the medication I never had this issue.

Answered by Dr. Samrat Jankar

Abruptly discontinuing the medication could trigger your symptoms return. Stomach discomfort and chest pain are potential side effects when stopping acid-reducing medicines too quickly. Gradually tapering off these drugs is crucial to avoid such complications. Consult a gastroenterologist to discuss the symptoms you're experiencing and receive proper guidance on managing them effectively.

Sharp pain under rib cage

Male | 35

If you happen to feel a sudden acute pain just under your rib cage it might be quite a stressful condition. It may be because of various reasons. If you have wounded or knocked down that place, that might be the reason it hurts. Sometimes, gas in your stomach might be also the reason you experience this. Visit a doctor to find out the cause and proper treatment.

I had eaten an entire pack of JIM-JAM biscuits the previous night and had slept up-side-down (on my belly) for the entire night. The immediate next morning I had an intense ( very very painful ) stomach pain. And it persisted for that entire day until I took antibiotics and painkillers from my doctor.

Male | 20

Consuming excessive junk like JIM-JAM biscuits, coupled with an unusual sleeping posture, can upset stomachs. This combination probably caused your intense abdominal pain. Antibiotics and painkillers can help by reducing inflammation. To prevent recurrence, eat healthier foods and ensure comfortable sleeping positions.

Female | 36

The 12.2mm stone in your gallbladder could be the source of your pain in the stomach. Stuff formities are mainly caused by the hardening of bile in the gallbladder. The 9mm hernia and grade one fatty liver might also be the ones that make your pain worse. As a solution to these problems, you may need treatments such as surgery for the hernia or medications for the fatty liver. A timely health check-up is important for correct diagnosis and treatment. I am a 51 year old female and I have been having diarrhea and squishy poops and sometimes the poops can’t come out so I have to use my finger to get them out, so I am wondering why I keep getting these symptoms?

Female | 51

Having diarrhea or soft poop could be due to many things such as infections or food sensitivities while difficulty passing stool could mean constipation. You need to eat more fiber, drink plenty of water, and also go for a medical check-up to know exactly what is wrong with you.

Male | 21

You might have a stomach bug. Feeling nauseous, abdominal pain, low blood pressure, night chills, fatigue, or lack of appetite indicate this. A virus likely causes it. Rest, stay hydrated, eat plain foods like toast or crackers to settle your stomach. If no improvement in a few days, seek medical help.

My boyfriend had, what I suspect to be, Norovirus 8 days ago. He had diarrhea for about 18 to 22 hours, and he only had one bout of vomiting, which he believes was due to the Mountain Dew he drank on an upset stomach. Since its been 8 days since his symptoms have stopped, would it be safe to engage in close contact activities like kissing again?

Male | 23

Norovirus is a bug. It can make your stomach feel bad. After it goes away, wait a bit before kissing. This makes sure it is all gone. 8 days since his last symptoms are good. But wait longer to be safe. Washing hands well stops the spread.

During intermittent fasting i have diarrhoea what should I eat when i break the fast

Male | 21

Ah, seems diarrhea has interrupted your intermittent fasting schedule. Diarrhea is frequent bowel movements, often caused by fasting's effects on digestion. When ending your fast, opt for gentle foods like bananas, plain rice, or toast. These soothe the stomach. Hydrate extensively with lots of water. If diarrhea persists, seek medical advice.
