How to get rid of strawberry legs?

Patient's Query

Every time I shave or use other hair removal techniques, I get strawberry legs. I don't want to consider laser hair removal. Is there any way I can get rid of the strawberry legs?

Answered by Dr. Archit Aggarwal

If you have strawberry legs after hair removal technique or shaving your hair and specially when you don't want to go for laser hair removal then cleaning your hairs/legs with betadine or savlon before shaving and after shaving apply after-shave, betadine or savlon and then applying anti-inflammatory cream containing mild steroids and antibiotic might help to reduce the chances of strawberry legs. If the problem persists then please visit dermatologist.

Answered by Dr. Deepak Jakhar

Strawberry legs, which are usually attributed to blocked hair pores or ingrown hairs can be treated with the help of a dermatologist. They can offer suggestions regarding skincare regimen and prescribe topical treatments or procedures that may aid in improving the condition. It is advisable to visit a dermatologist for specific advice and recommendations based on individual choices.

You may have a skin disease known as eczema. Eczema is a skin condition that develops itchy red lumps on the affected area. This case is common in children of your age. The reasons could be the problems of dry skin and allergic reactions. Use moisturizing lotion to keep your skin soft and stop it from itching. Sometimes the physician might prescribe a specific cream to help you with the itch.

Hi. I've a question regarding my niece's skin problem. She is a 7-years old. She has developed red patches of skin on her cheek, chin and around nose. The affected area of her cheek is very dry. I brought her to a doctor who prescribed two creams, mezoderm(betamethasone) and gentamicin-akos which made things far worse. Then at the pharmacy I was advised to use ftorokart(also a cream with triamcinolone) for my niece's face. After a few uses of the cream, I've seen some noticeable improvement in her skin condition since she started to use it. It took the redness out of her nose. But she still has rash and blisters on her face. I took photos of her face in case it might be helpful for you to identify the reason for her skin condition. Here are the photos of hers: https://ibb.co/q9t8bSL https://ibb.co/Q8rqcr1 https://ibb.co/JppswZw https://ibb.co/Hd9LPkZ Would you mind helping us to identify what caused this skin condition?

I pinched the tip of my penis head and I got a mild hematoma. How do I treat it?

Male | 29

I recommend that you see an urologist promptly for appropriate assessment and diagnosis of the true nature of your condition. Do not use any home treatment since it may worsen the hematoma.

Mera hath me hamesha khujli rahati or jalan bhi or lal lal. Or mere face skin me dag h to usse kaise hataai

These symptoms may occur due to different things such as allergies, eczema, or fungal infections. For itchy hands with redness, it is important to keep the hands clean and moisturized. You can also use gentle soaps and apply soothing lotion. For the face, dark spots can appear less noticeable by using mild exfoliants and moisturizers. Additionally, do not forget to shield your skin from the sun so as not to worsen any damage already done.

Age-41yrs. From last 3 years suffering from a black patch all around my lips, specially below the lips on both sides. I had visited a doctor there who detected the problem to be Perical pig / Melasma Pg as written in the prescription. Treated me with the following medicines For the 1st month- Cetaphil gentle cleanser, Flutivate E cream alternate night and Kojic cream once in a day. Next visit I was advised to use Kojiglo cream once daily, Eukroma+Flutivate E cream on the patches twice a week. But I did not find any difference. I had informed the doctor that I cannot afford a very costly treatment, but on her assurance during my third visit I was applied Glycocil pack but yet felt no difference. Then was asked to use Dermadew Caloe lotion every day and Azideenz 10% gel once a day, this gel made my skin rough, when complained she advised me to use only Dermadew lotion day and night daily. My face is 2 to 3 shades darker than my body color. What to do now to get rid of this patch

Female | 41

Without a proper evaluation and diagnosis, I can't say. But normally, suggested treatments for perical pigmentation include topical medications and laser treatments and I do not recommend flutivate cream for pigmentation. However, based on your individual condition, the doctor will recommend the best treatment for you.

I have ringworm for almost 4 months .some of the ringworm in my inner thighs and now in pubic area too. Some of them under my breast too.applied clotrimazole, terbinafine ointments. But didn't worked. What should I do

Female | 18

It looks like you have bad case of ringworm which did not respond to the OTC medicines. I suggest that as soon as possible you see a dermatologist who specializes in fungal infections. They may give you oral antifungal medicine and topical treatment to improve the result. Seek urgent medical care since untreated ringworm can cause problems.
