How Can I Brighten My Dark Skin?

Patient's Query

My skin is Dark what should i do to get my skin Brighton

Answered by Dr. Ishmeet Kaur

Skin darkening is a typical phenomenon; it could be as a result of different causes like solar exposure or genetic condition. Dark skin tends to become discolored. To lighten your skin, try staying away from the sun, using mild skin care products, and eating healthy foods are the right methods. In addition to this, drinking plenty of water and sufficient sleep also help make your skin seem fairer.

I am 27 years old female and have dry skin type. Lately my skin on the torso, waist and hip has become extremely dry & flaky. Even piling doesn't affect it. I then tried aveeno cream which has reduced flakiness, but it's still very tough to touch and skin on these areas has become stretchy as well as scaly. My grandmother had this skin. It's strange because skin everywhere else is normal, but there it's becoming old and wrinkled. I drink 2-3 litres water daily, although piling doesn't help but I still oil everyday. Pls help. I also take vitamin E capsules, sea cod, vitamin c chewables, and B complex capsules. My skin overall is dry and scalp has dandruff because of this too. There are sometimes small patches of dry skin at random areas like back, forearm and torso, and when I scratch away it goes off like flakes. But this dry, rough and wrinkled skin on my torso, waist and hip is bothering me.

Female | 27

There are a few things you can try to help with your dry, rough and wrinkled skin. First, make sure you are using a moisturizer that is specially formulated for dry skin. Look for ingredients like shea butter, cocoa butter, or almond oil. These will help provide moisture and nourishment to the skin. You may also want to try a richer cream, such as body butter or a balm, to provide extra hydration.

You can also try using a gentle exfoliator to help remove any dead skin cells and promote cell turnover. This will help the skin to look smoother and help with flakiness.

In addition to using moisturizers and exfoliators, you should also make sure you are getting enough vitamins and minerals in your diet. Vitamins A, C, and E are all important for healthy skin, as well as omega-3 fatty acids. Eating a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables can help you get the nutrients you need for healthy skin.

Finally, make sure you are drinking plenty of water throughout the day. This will help keep your skin hydrated and help prevent dryness.

Hi I am taking esomeprazole, lipitor, lisinopril, citalopram and ropinerole. I want to know if it it safe to take anti sweat tablets. Thank you

Female | 59

Sweating is your body's natural way to cool down. Certain medications can increase sweat production as a side effect or be symptoms of underlying medical conditions. Anti-sweat tablets reduce sweat secretion but may interact with your current medications. It's crucial to consult your doctor for a safe solution. They can adjust your medications or suggest alternative treatments to address the root cause of your sweating. Always communicate openly with your doctor about any concerns or changes in your medication regimen to ensure your health is prioritized.

My daughter is 5 yrs old since her birth she has gt atopic dermatitis and can see some brown spots and few very tiny boils and also 1 white patch on her face now what shld I do she has dry skin

Female | 5

I would recommend that you take your daughter to see a dermatologist for a full assessment. A dermatologist can provide the best advice on how to care for your daughter's skin condition, as well as prescribe any necessary medications and treatments. Be sure to use gentle soaps and moisturizers and avoid harsh chemicals or fragrances.

Feeling itching on Back of my palm and fingers during midnight between 2 to 5am . Unable to sleep because of that .

Male | 43

This may happen due to many reasons, such as dry skin, eczema or allergies and contact dermatitis. Itch sensations may also be heightened at night due to the natural circadian rhythm of the body. It is advised to apply a hypoallergenic moisturizer before going to bed, which can mitigate symptoms of dry skin. It is possible to manage allergic reactions by identifying potential triggers such as certain soaps or fabrics and avoiding them. If chronic or aggravating, it is so recommended to consult a dermatologist for an in-depth evaluation and tailored treatment options targeting the true cause of nighttime scratch.

I am 33 years old .I am suffering from PCOD & now I am facing hair fall problem in badly .can you help me to grow new hair

Female | 33

PCOD can trigger the hormonal imbalance which in turn causes hair loss. Some signs are irregular menstruation and acne. To promote new hair growth, you can try consuming a balanced diet full of fruits and vegetables, controlling stress, and keeping a normal weight. You may talk to your doctor about possible therapies for hair growth as well.

I am 18 year old last month i got pimple on my face and i just pinch it off everytime and now i have black spot on my face and i just want to get rid of it what should i do i can share picture if you want!!

Female | 18

It seems like you’ve got post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation after popping your zits. These can result in dark marks on your face. To fade them away, consider trying out products that contain vitamin C, niacinamide, or kojic acid as ingredients. Sun protection is key since UV rays can worsen the appearance of these spots. Also, remember not to irritate your skin further to avoid more dark spots.
