Hi..I am a 39 year old female and slipped and fell on a wet floor at a function that I attended. However my foot started swelling up and my knee and the side of my knee is painful and swollen although I can walk with a limp so I don't think anything is broken...could it be Muscle injury or tendons etc...
Female | 39
According to the symptoms you are going through, it is likely that you bruised your knee or your muscles or tendons around it got injured. This might present as a combination of swelling, pain, and immobility of the leg Lie down while putting your feet up, apply a cold compress to the area, stretch your leg, and wrap it with a long elastic bandage to reduce swelling. If the pain persists, replays, or intensifies, or you find it hard to bear its weight, go to the orthopaedist.

I have severe knee pain when I stand up for too long and I have just noticed there is a large indentation in my knee
Male | 59
You have patellofemoral pain syndrome. This condition causes pain around or under the knee cap, which can spread to the side of the knee. It's often due to overuse, weak muscles, or improper knee-cap positioning. Exercises to strengthen leg muscles and supportive sports shoes can help. A key part of treatment is avoiding activities that worsen the pain.

Can foot drop be treated without undergoing surgery?
Male | 44
Yes, Electro acupuncture has given great results in treating foot drop.
Foot drop is mobility impairment of an ankle, foot and toes which causes foot drop. It is usually caused by a stroke.
Acupuncture point along with electro stimulation, combined with Moxibustion ( passing heat) showed significant improvement in the condition of the patient.
Acupuncture helps in improving motor function in patients with foot drop. Some physical exercises ( at later stages) will be given which will also help in correcting the foot drop completely.

Hello, I am writing from Iran and because my English is not good, I have to use translation I have L1, L2, and L3 lumbar disc that presses on the nerve of the left leg, which causes pain exactly in the axillary area facing the outside of the thigh and the middle of the thigh, and after 60 sessions of physical therapy, I still have the same pain. Actually, my pain goes away with electrical devices, but it keeps coming back
Male | 25
If the Lumbar disc issues are causing nerve compression, consult an orthopedic specialist or neurologist, for a comprehensive assessment and to discuss further treatment options, which might include therapies, medications, or surgery based on their evaluation.

Why does ac joint hurt?
Here are many things that can happen to the AC joint, but the most common conditions are arthritis, fractures and separations. Arthritis is a condition characterized by loss of cartilage in the joint, which is essentially wear and tear of the smooth cartilage that allows the bones to move smoothly. Like arthritis at other joints in the body, it is characterized by pain and swelling, especially with activity. Over time, the joint can wear out and get larger, with spurs forming around it. These spurs are a sign of the arthritis and not a cause of the pain. Reaching across the body toward the other arm aggravates arthritis at the AC joint. AC joint wear and tear is common in weight lifters, especially among those who bench press and to a lesser extent, military press. In weight lifters the arthritis at the AC joint has a special name — osteolysis.

You have been suffering from severe pain and discomfort in many parts of your body. The discomfort in your fingers, legs, hips, back, neck, and the area under your breast, besides a loss of strength in your abdominal area, can be nerve problems or an injured muscle. It is paramount for an orthopedist to thoroughly check and give an exact diagnosis to receive the correct treatment for your symptoms.

Hello. I recently discovered that when I pour warm water on my thumb it starts to hurt and the pain goes thru the whole arm. It only happens when water is poured on it but when I am not showering or washing my hands my arm feels fine.
Male | 16
Hey, Welcome to ClinicSpots. We're here to help you with your health concerns.
Your pain when warm water touches your thumb, radiating through your arm, might be related to nerve sensitivity or an underlying condition like neuropathy. The warmth could be triggering nerve endings, causing the pain to spread. It’s also possible that a minor injury or inflammation is reacting to the temperature change.
Next Steps to Follow
-Avoid Warm Water: Temporarily avoid exposing your thumb to warm water to prevent discomfort.
-Monitor Symptoms: Keep an eye on additional symptoms such as swelling, numbness, or changes in skin color.
-Consult a Healthcare Professional: Schedule an appointment with a doctor, preferably a neurologist or an orthopedic specialist, for a thorough evaluation. Diagnostic tests like nerve conduction studies or imaging might be needed.
-Detailed Examination: The doctor will perform a physical examination and take a medical history to diagnose the issue accurately. They might suggest treatments such as physical therapy, medications, or further tests based on their findings.
Health Tip
Consider gentle health exercises to maintain flexibility and reduce nerve sensitivity. Ensuring good hand ergonomics and avoiding repetitive strain can also help prevent discomfort.

If you have metal plates supporting your left hand bone just above your elbow due to a past accident, removing them should be considered carefully. Whether they can be removed depends on factors like how well your bone has healed and your range of motion. Pls consult your orthopedic surgeon if required.

When can i eat chips after jaw surgery?
Male | 34
Since the treatment of jaw surgery, solid as well as crunchy foods similar to chips will be reintroduced into your diet after a period based on how fast you heal. Generally speaking it’s a good idea to start with soft or liquid diet right after the surgery and progressively move up towards firmer consistencies as your doctor recommends. In the first phase, crunchy foods are avoided for several weeks in order to let the jaw heal without putting it under additional strain. Stick to the particular dietary recommendations given by your surgeon, in order for a smooth recovery process.

I am having really bad pain in my left foot my left foot is swollen and my right foot is not swollen a little bit of fluid is coming out of my left foot and it's red and I am not able to find a doctor to help me I'm almost to the point where I want to cut my own foot off I am sick and tired of having constant pain I've been having this pain for more than a year
Female | 40
Your left foot is causing problems. There's swelling, pain, and redness. Fluid build up too. An infection could be the issue. Or an injury perhaps. Maybe even gout. The inflammation symptoms are worrying. You need help quickly. Antibiotics might help if infected. Pain medication would ease discomfort. Draining fluid may be needed too.

Female | 26
Pain in the ankle, mostly in the morning, is probably associated with arthritis, gout, or tendinitis. It is best to see an orthopedist who has the experience and capability to diagnose the condition and provide suitable treatment.
