Antiperspirant: applied on the top of your skin. As you perspire, it gets pulled into your sweat glands and plugs it. When your body senses that the sweat glands were plugged, it then receives the signal to stop producing a lot of sweat. Side effects include burning sensation & itching on the places where it was applied.
Iontophoresis (no-sweat machine): Electric current sent by it, is essential in shutting down the targeted sweat glands temporarily. Side effects include dry and/or irritated skin, and discomfort
Botulinum toxin injections: They temporarily block a chemical in the body responsible for stimulating sweat glands.
Prescription medicine: They prevent the sweat glands from working. Athletes, people who work in a hot place, and anyone who lives in an area with warm temperature, should exercise caution when using this treatment. The body will not be able to cool itself if it doesn't sweats. Side effects include abnormal heartbeat, dry mouth & eyes, and blurred vision.

Sweating under the eyes is abnormal and may be an indication of such a problem as hyperhidrosis- this can signify something wrong in numerous parts of the body that appear to sweat profusely. Treatment alternatives range from topical antiperspirants, Botox injections, oral treatments to surgery if necessary. It is best to contact a dermatologist who can diagnose your specific condition and advise you on the most suitable treatment. They can give you a detailed assessment to find the root cause of your sweating and create an individual treatment plan that will help them deal with all these symptoms effectively. Remember, key to effective addressing of hyperhidrosis is the correct diagnosis as well as tailored treatment.
